Duties and responsibilities:

· Support the Director of Care, Operations Manager & Registered Provider, be a positive ambassador for Haven Bay, its residents, management team, and other staff members

· Lead and implement change, with particular reference to HIQA standards

· Display leadership, innovation and creativity to deal with any crisis that may arise in the course of your work

· Carry out and supervise audit of all aspects of nursing care for example: medication management and error, daily spot checks for all check lists utilised by nursing and care assistant staff (for example: shower/linen, restraint release, falls mats/falls beam, equipment and other check lists as the need arises)

· Liaise with other medical professionals in an organised, effective and professional manner and facilitate co-ordination, co-operation & liaison across multidisciplinary teams and programmes

· Receive, supervise and oversee the reception of new residents

· Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needed to address the resident’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in accordance with the resident themselves

· Provide support & supervision to care & nursing staff in all aspects including orientation of new staff, training and development of care staff, organising and co-ordinating their duties, guiding, supporting, motivating, monitoring and evaluating staff performance

· Participate in the identification, development and delivery of education, training and development for all staff

· Play a central role in maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors

· Play an active part in daily resident hand-over, ensuring excellent communication between all staff caring for residents is maintained. Coordinate the shift, ensuring suitable delegation of tasks for nursing and care staff is allocated

Experience working in nursing homes in Ireland essential for this role.
