The residents and staff were delighted to welcome members of K-CoRD to Haven Bay Care Centre to accept the fundraising cheque which had been raised from our Christmas Fayre.The grand total was €2015 , a fantastic result from the hard work and dedication of the residents ,their families and staff.

Liz Creed,Project Manager.Deirdre Cullen, Maura Reilly and Ann Twomey from the Management Committee of K-CoRD expressed their appreciation to all involved. Deirdre went onto explain the work of K-CoRD, Kinsale’s Community Response to Dementia and how the money will make a huge contribution to the work of K-Cord in the community.She explained that awareness of Dementia is vital and that people,especially those working in shops or the hospitality industry are fully trained and can enhance someone’s visit to any establishment in Kinsale.

Director of Care,Yvonne Mc Carthy,thanked everyone especially the residents and their families and friends for being so supportive to this worthy cause.

The morning’s celebrations were further enhanced by the Caring for the Elderly students from the Kinsale Further Education College along with their tutor Teresa Mc Carthy performed some songs.
