Housekeeping and Catering Staff

Housekeeping:

  • To clean residents’ rooms, common areas and all surrounding areas 
  • To assist with laundry and linen management
  • Have a clear understanding of the basic principles of cross infection

Catering

  • To ensure food and beverages are prepared to the standard directed by the Head Chef and in line with the HACCP system in place
  • Take full responsibility for allocated sections in the kitchen
  • Be aware of the kitchen environment and use initiative in addressing any issues that arise, particularly those relating to hygiene and health and safety
  • Understand resident’s needs and requirements
  • Prepare meals and drinks as directed by the Head Chef at all times taking note of special meal requirements
  • Help in the serving of meals and drinks when appropriate
  • Have a clear understanding of the principles of cross infection
  • Help maintain a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors through awareness of health and safety policies and by attending training as required
