Haven Bay Care Centre Finalists and Winners at Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards

Residents, relatives and staff at Haven Bay Care Centre are celebrating this week following the announcement that Adrienne Crowley, Deirdre Mullins and Jim Grennan,plus the Catering Team were shortlisted in Ancillary Care Worker, Community Initiative and Catering & Nutrition Categories at the first annual Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards in Association with Homecare Medical Supplies.

The awards were presented by President Mary McAleese on Thursday, November 11th at a gala dinner attended by over 450 people in City West Hotel, Dublin. The NHI Care Awards are designed to recognise and reward the contributions made by those living and working in nursing homes nationwide. Helen O'Regan, Operations Manager, said: “We are delighted that Adrienne Crowley was shortlisted to the final 3 in Ancillary Care Worker and that Deirdre Mullins/Jim Grennan were shortlisted to the final 3 in Community Initiative Award. The Catering Team under chefs Emanuele Ferri and Marek Scigaj won outright the Catering & Nutrition Award. There has been great excitement and expectation over the last number of weeks following confirmation of the shortlistings and winning the Catering Award. Haven Bay is in existence since 2007. It is a real testament to our staff that we have come so far in such a short period of time. We heartily congratulate the finalists and award winners and all the staff who contribute to the quality care and ‘home from home’ lifestyle enjoyed by the residents of Haven Bay Care Centre. Well done to all”.

President Mary McAleese addressed the attendance in advance of the announcement of the winners by the MC, well known TV and Radio Personality Ms Terry Prone.
